Firm Recognition Follows Individual Award for Michael P. Richman
In addition to our Firm’s recognition from Best Lawyers®, Firm member Michael P. Richman earned individual recognition on the organization’s 2025 Lawyer of the Year list. Richman received the award in the bankruptcy litigation field after receiving the highest average client and peer review scores among Madison bankruptcy attorneys. Richman also received Best Lawyers® 2025 honors in the areas of:

The Best Lawyers® honors follow many other awards Richman has been given throughout his long and prestigious career. After graduating from Columbia University School of Law in 1979, Richman worked in bankruptcy and litigation law for several large New York firms. In 2018, he moved his practice to Madison, though he continues to represent clients in federal and state courts in New York and nationwide. Richman also served multiple leadership roles in the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), including as president from 2004 to 2005 and chairman of the board from 2006 to 2007. In addition to practicing law, Richman teaches bankruptcy law as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison and is the Chairman of the Board of the Madison Symphony Orchestra.
